On the go

Today's post is a round up of other projects I've also had on the go during March.

My To Do List has been in my stitching basket for ages, and I just love this saying. When this is finished, I'm going to display it on a wall in my work office. The fabric I'm using is 32 count Smokey Pearl Belfast.

A new start for #santasundayxs, Berries in Bloom, a free chart by Cathy from Hands on Design.

More dish cloth knitting, February's pattern from the Kitchen Shop. If you sign up to receive the newsletter, a dishcloth pattern will be emailed to you every month throughout 2021.

I'm still working on Merry Old Soul for #merrymondayxs.

The clips holding my extra fabric were given to me by a friend the other day, they are magnetic cable clips. Isn't this a great idea, I've ordered some more.

Last night I started another new project, I've never had so many stitching projects on the go!  I'll share an update about this when I've done a decent amount of stitching on it lol.

See you soon x

A Week of WIPs

Winter has well and truly arrived here with the temperatures dropping considerably in the past week. Just waiting now for the first frost of the year, brrr. And with it, has come the first round of winter bugs at our house, Hannah having a few days off school late last week and then myself this week with the coughs, sniffs, and a blinding headache. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed we don't get another repeat of last winter when poor Hannah was sick on and off again for about 6 weeks!

Anyways, with the cooler weather there is nothing better than crafting by the fire in the evenings and I've been making lots of progress on all the things I have on the go at the moment.  I'm not usually into rotations, etc with my stitching and other crafts but lately I've found that if I write out a little plan for the week, working on a different project each day, it's a great way to make headway on some of these things.

So starting with Mondays (evenings) - Sock Knitting and this also includes the little knitting group at work on Mondays.

Tuesdays is for With Thy Needle or Blackbird Designs projects:

Wednesdays - dishcloth knitting, I've been knitting quite a few of these for gifts.

Thursdays I've been stitching on Yuletide Welcome by Plum Street Samplers, one of my oldest wips.
As of last week I've only got this bottom section to go.

Fridays I've been catching up on the Farmhouse Christmas series. For some reason or another, there was a considerable delay for Part 2 & 3 being sent out from the US but my auto order has been sorted now and Part 5 should be here any day now. Loving this series!

Saturdays are for a new start, the Cross Stitch Nation, but I've only managed a few stitches on this so far.

Finally, Sundays are #santasundayxs, and I'm working on this year's Christmas ornaments. I've got several designs kitted and ready to go, and I keep adding to the pile, lol. Hopefully this will mean I'll have them all stitched and finished well before December.

We're looking forward to the long weekend coming up here, its a public holiday next Monday, so Glenn, Hannah and I will be away for a few days, enjoying the hot pools again in Taupo.

See you soon x

Annual Easter Exchange

Every Easter Kath and I have our annual exchange and I always look forward to it. This is the sweet little pillow Kath gave me this year, I just love it!

Here's what I stitched for Kath - this is Curious Bunny by Teresa Kogut and this chart can be purchased as a download here:

I loved stitching this design.

I also gave Kath some knitted dishcloths and few chocolate treats.  Kath came for afternoon tea on Monday and I made an Anne Chocolate Cake, first time trying this cake and it was delicious!

Before the Long Weekend

The long Easter weekend is almost here and this year we don't have any visitors coming to stay or set plans, maybe a dinner catch up with our family one evening. We do have some more home renovations to work on including Glenn starting on our laundry redo - pics to come!

As always, I've got lots of crafting planned and I had thought about starting some new projects but instead I'll work on a few works in progress from my stitching basket.

This week I've so enjoyed making these easy knitted cotton dishcloths  - they knit up very quickly. The pattern is Gramma's Dishcloth.

More knitted hand warmers for a dear friend - Hi Wendy :)

Last weekend the biannual Wine Country Quilts Exhibition was held locally so my friend Rose and I popped along for a lookie. I didn't get any photos of the amazing quilts myself but you can see some of them here.

I did purchase some pretty fabric though, and easily could have spent lots of money on fabric but was very restrained, lol.

Most of these will be for project bags, don't you just love the bunnies and unicorns??

This week I had a work trip for the day to Palmerston North. It was a very warm day and we got to enjoy the Manawatu scenery on the drive there and back.

A visit to the library during my lunch break yesterday and the following books were waiting for me:

Which one to start first?

Happy Easter! See you soon xx

Last Week

My #santasundayxs stitching is going really well, on the weekend I finished this sweet angel design by Little House Needleworks.

This is the second time I've stitched this lovely design, the first time was for my MIL back when the chart first came out.

One night last week I decided that some easy knitting was in order so I printed off a dishcloth pattern from my Ravelry list and found some Sugar 'n Cream cotton in my stash. Pretty colours huh?

I also received a little parcel from all the way down south, Vintage Purls in Dunedin. I'm going to use this gorgeous yarn for the first pattern in the Curious Handmade Sock Society Club. I recently mastered magic loop sock knitting (more about that another time) so I also bought these ChiaGoo 2.25mm circuluar needles. These are great to knit with.

On Saturday I went out for the day with Clare to spend the day in Napier with Kath. I couldn't decide what to knit or stitch so I packed up all my latest projects and more, lol.

We had a wonderful time catching up, lots of chatting and laughs and as always, a stitching together has to have yummy treats to share.

So much fun and I'm already looking forward to our next catch up.

See you soon xx
