LK Jingles & a new start

My Lizzie Kate Jingles project was finished earlier in the year and was just waiting for me to sew on a few buttons and beads. I'd already decided to sew it into a wall hanging, using a piece of gold spotty and red fabric.

A piece of jute for the hanging and a bright red button and it's done, all set for Christmas 2017.

(It looks a bit wonky in this photo but it was hard to get a good shot of it as it's so long)

Last week I made a small start on the third chart from Blackbird Designs For the Birds series.

The fourth chart, fabric and threads also arrived last week. I just love the thread colours used in this series.

Now I'm "patiently" waiting for the first part of this year's Lizzie Kate Christmas mystery sampler to arrive from the Silver Needle.

Thank you for all the recent comments on my little blog - have a wonderful weekend!

Lizzie Kate Jingles

I'm very pleased that one of my unfinished projects from last year is now finished! It's been in my qsnaps for ages!

I still have to attach some buttons and decide how I'm going to finish it, maybe into a wall hanging?

Stitched on 32 countt mocha Belfast with mostly the recommended threads, this was a fun stitch. Several of the Jingles I've stitched before for individual ornaments.  Instructions on how to stitch all the Jingles in one sampler including the stitch count can be found on the Lizzie Kate website here.

Stitching in January

As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm going to work on some of my unfinished projects from 2016 before starting anything new.

Last month I stitched quite a bit on the Lizzie Kate Jingles, finishing parts 6, 7 & 8.

The whole sampler, please excuse the wrinkles.

I also finished up a small section on Yuletide Welcome by Plum Street Samplers.

I really hope to get this lovely piece finished soon but my stitching has been put away for now while I get some knitting and crochet gifts made.

See you soon xx

Three Good Things

Ah, the first day of Spring has finally arrived and what a gorgeous day it's been. September sure has rolled around fast and I think the next few weeks are going to fly by, especially as we have our family holiday coming up later in the month, very excited about it! More about that another time :)

Three good things to share this afternoon:

I have finished another part on the Lizzie Kate Jingle Flip It Sampler.  I have left off the beads and buttons until the whole sampler is done.

I'm using mostly all the recommended threads and my fabric is good old 32 count Belfast linen in Mocha.

Last Sunday I went with a couple of friends up to Napier to check out the knitting & craft market for Knit August Nights, a retreat weekend for knitters. This has been on in August for several years now but this was our first time going.

Oh wow!!  I was in absolute knitters heaven I can tell you!  I could have spent hours and hours browsing all the gorgeous yarn, project bags and accessories. I had set aside a little bit of spending money over the past few weeks but I could have easily spent three or four times what I did.

These are the lovely squishy yarns I came home with, and a set of Knit Pro Zing circulars too. I've already started another pair of socks with the skein from Bleating Art yarns! Next year I'd love to attend the whole weekend and what makes it even better as it's held at my favourite place in Napier, Ahuriri. I'd better start a knitting fund, lol.

Last weekend I also started this book and couldn't put it down! This would be one of my favourite books I've read this year. I won't give anything away but it has lots of twists and turns, a real excellent psychological thriller.

Another Jingle - #4 Cheer

I finished Jingle #4, Cheer, on my Lizzie Kate Jingles Flip It series late on Saturday night watching the All Blacks play Australia in the first Bledisloe Cup rugby test match.

I'm really enjoying this sampler, love the thread colours.

See you soon x
