My First Ever....

Thanks to my very generous and wonderful seasonal exchange partner, Kelly from the US, I will be starting my first ever Chatelaine class very soon - the Stitching Leporello. I was so stunned when I got an email from Kelly explaining what my winter and spring exchange gift was to be, and now I'm very excited!!! I can't wait for the class to begin. I've never done anything like this before so it will be a good challenge, especially for over our winter months.

It looks like a stitching friend is going to join me as once I pointed her in the direction of European Cross Stitch, she was very keen to sign up too. How's that for enabling, lolololol. That will be great as we can keep each other motivated and will be able to check on one another's progress as we work together.

Kelly, if you are reading this, thank you once again from the bottom of my heart - I know I've already said this in an email but you truly are a wonderful stitching friend to have.

I'm sure you'll just love it.

But be careful - Chatelaines are addictive. Kind of like crack - it only takes one hit and your gone.

Have a great time.

I'm working on a Chatelaine, too. Japanese Garden. I kitted it up myself using Eterna and Victoria Clayton silks. It's time consuming and a big learning process, but's it's going to be beautiful when finished! Good luck with yours! :)

I have to admit, even though I can't afford it, I've just treated myself to the chart as my personal treat for getting my promotion ... it'll be a while before I can afford to get the threads etc for it, but I look forward to seeing your progress in the meantime :) What a wonderful gift to receive! :D
