Hi friends! wow, its been well over a week since I last posted as there's been alot going on around here. I'm now well and truly back into a normal routine after the holidays - go to work, come home and do more work on the computer for our business, cook dinner, do the dishes and then stitch, got to fit some stitching in somewhere, lol. The heat here has been unbearable some days -our home office themometer was sitting on 33 degrees C at 6pm last night, I've got to get a fan for in here, its just far too hot and sticky to be sitting at the computer for any length of time, so I've not been on the net much at all.
Last week I received some very sad news, a dear friend of mine, M's wife passed away after a six month battle with cancer. A couple of friends and I travelled to Gisborne on Monday for V's funeral service. Gisborne is a four hour drive north of where I live, on the east coast, so it was a very early morning start for us to get on the road. The funeral was very peaceful and calming, exactly what V would have wanted, and there were a few laughs when her family members spoke about her, a very special person who would have done anything for anyone. I was so pleased that I went and got to see M, and his family, especially his son, to see how they are copying. V was so full of life, and very proud of her family. She will be really missed by many. So sad.
Stitchingwise, I've made some great progress on Celtic Winter - only the beaded borders to go now. This week its the mermaids turn and tonight I'm going to be working on the Prairie Schooler ornament from last year's JCS ornament magazine. This is part of a little SAL I'm doing with my kiwi friends group (Kath, Lisa and Pat). For each month until November we've selected an ornament to stitch and will share supplies, a bit like how the ornament RR's are run, but we can choose our own fabric and threads if we wish too.
so now onto this meme which seems to be on everyone's blog at the moment and which I thought would be quite interesting to do:
