May Roundup and June Goals

I had hoped to update over the weekend as we had a three day weekend here in New Zealand for Queen's Birthday but there were lots of other things to do to keep me busy :).

Our friends moved into their new house on Saturday so I spent a few hours with them helping to carry boxes into the right rooms and then unpack. On Saturday afternoon I went out for the afternoon with my parents and niece to Hastings, which is about 30 mins north of where I live, for some retail therapy. I was very restrained (lol) and only bought two books for Glenn and I to read - Deception Point by Dan Brown, and Sahara by Clive Cussler. I'm saving my pennies for this coming weekend as I'm going to Palmerston North to stay with my aunt and uncle from Friday through until Monday. I can't wait! Will be nice to have Friday and Monday off work for a midyear break. I've got several "wedding" jobs to do, including looking for shoes for myself. I have seen a gorgeous pair that I really like on an Australian website so if I can't find something similiar I might end up getting my friend Bec who lives in Sydney, and is going to be one of my bridesmaid, to order them for me. Umm, decisions, decisions.

Glenn worked on our front garden which is getting "remodelled" and we shovelled two ute loads of compost into it. I think it will need at least another two loads to completely fill it up. What a lovely smell there was woffting from it, lol.

I didn't get a lot of stitching done like I had planned to but I did manage to finish my piece for the Seasonal Exchange. Here's a link to the pic. Not sure how I will "finish" it yet. I also made a tiny start on Atelier de Brodeuse (Stitching Room) by Au Fil De Reves which I'll take to Palmy with me next weekend.

I realised that I haven't posted about my stitching goals yet either this month.

My May Goals were:
start the Celtic Band Sampler - yes, stitchalong with Dani and Carol,
restart Stoney Creek's Noah's Submarine - yes
two Christmas ornaments - Love and Hope by M Designs - Love is finished and I started Hope
make a start on my stitched gift for my Seasonal Exchange partner - yes, done
Indigo Rose's Nanna's Afghan for the freebie SAL - yes, done
continue on Elizabeth stocking- no, didn't even pick it up.
Emerald Mermaid - yes, made good progress.

So my June Goals are:

- to continue weekly rotation on Emmy and Noah's Sub
- one night per week for the Celtic Band Sampler
- finish Hope ornie
- and to make up: Just Nan Dragonfly scissor purse and the Lady Bug needleroll, as well as the seasonal exchange piece.

I've also updated my webshots album with recent finishes, still need to add the photos from the exhibition last month too.

Funny you used the word "ute" in your entry - Karen just taught me that one yesterday. We called that kind of truck a "pickup truck" - too funny :-)
