Our favourite beach is only just over 30 minutes from home, Blackhead Beach, and we recently spent a few days out there celebrating my Dad's 65th birthday.
We stay on Dad's friends' farm, only a few minutes walk down to the beach.
Donna made a delicious cake to celebrate on Friday night.
The weather at the start of our stay was a bit cool and cloudy but we still made the most of the sea air by going for long walks on the beach and braving the cold water!
Friends of ours were also staying at the beach for the week so we spent a lot of time with them swimming, going on walks, surf cast fishing and enjoying meals together.
It's a long weekend coming up in early February so we've booked to return there again for some more beach fun in the sun!
See you soon xx

That looks almost like paradise, that beach! I think you're very lucky to live close to that place. And you made such terrific pictures...
Hard to imagine being there though, because overhere in Belgium (Europe) it's freezing cold!
Have a very nice day,
Sigrid
A beautiful nz beach day. Lovely photos
Absolutely beautiful!
Great photos even though a little overcast, a beautiful place.
Looks like a lovely spot - great sunsets. Not such a great summer so far for us all, of course it will be fabulous once the kids go back to school.
Nice!!!! It cheers me immensely to see the beach, the ocean, shorebirds... in the middle of winter! Thanks for sharing, as always! Hugs!
