Ah, the first day of Spring has finally arrived and what a gorgeous day it's been. September sure has rolled around fast and I think the next few weeks are going to fly by, especially as we have our family holiday coming up later in the month, very excited about it! More about that another time :)
Three good things to share this afternoon:
I have finished another part on the Lizzie Kate Jingle Flip It Sampler. I have left off the beads and buttons until the whole sampler is done.
I'm using mostly all the recommended threads and my fabric is good old 32 count Belfast linen in Mocha.
Last Sunday I went with a couple of friends up to Napier to check out the knitting & craft market for Knit August Nights, a retreat weekend for knitters. This has been on in August for several years now but this was our first time going.
Oh wow!! I was in absolute knitters heaven I can tell you! I could have spent hours and hours browsing all the gorgeous yarn, project bags and accessories. I had set aside a little bit of spending money over the past few weeks but I could have easily spent three or four times what I did.
These are the lovely squishy yarns I came home with, and a set of Knit Pro Zing circulars too. I've already started another pair of socks with the skein from Bleating Art yarns! Next year I'd love to attend the whole weekend and what makes it even better as it's held at my favourite place in Napier, Ahuriri. I'd better start a knitting fund, lol.
Last weekend I also started this book and couldn't put it down! This would be one of my favourite books I've read this year. I won't give anything away but it has lots of twists and turns, a real excellent psychological thriller.
See you soon xx

Oooooh lovely yarns :-) I have recently bought some knit pro zing needles and i am very happy with them. Can't wait to see what you make with the yarn.
I have had that book on my kindle for ages, i could do with reading a good physiological thriller, nothing has grabbed my attention for a while now.
I've put the book on hold at the library. Thank you for the recommendation!
Lovely stitching and yarn! I really like all the colorways you've selected.
Your LK sampler looks gorgeous! I do like their designs for a fun quick stitch.
Beautiful yarns too, looking forward to seeing what you make with them.
divine yarns! I went for all of KAN and loved it! Not sure if I'd go every year, but did come home with some divine wool. it was fabulous meeting people from NZ. Australia and Hawaii there. The tour at Skeinz was fantastic - what a fab little shop too.
Lovely yarns hope you show us when you knit them up. I like the Zing needles very much, they make sock knitting a delight.Love your stitchery.
