Vintage Sewing Collage

Last winter I worked on this lovely stitchery pattern by Gail Pan Designs.  One of my NZ friends, Elizabeth (hi Elizabeth!) kindly sent me the dyed fabric, the buttons, trims and vintage threads to use to accessorize the finished collage.

Recently I bought the right sized frame for it and spent a few hours over the weekend putting it all together.

A close up of the stitched piece, I used a Cottage Garden thread, Latte I think it was.

Another project ticked off the "To Finish" list!

That is a lovely collage. Love the antiquey colouring. It will look great hanging on the wall. Love all your stitcheries and finishings you have done. I have just finished a sampler book. 10 pages in all. The design is by Jeannette Douglas. Each page is a different stitch done in multiple ways. I started it in 2011 and finished the stitching yesterday. Now I have to make it up into a book. I tell you it was a woohoo when I finished the last stitch. I did it on a fine Belfast 32 count linen. Today I feel that my eyes need a rest, keen to get onto something else now though.Love your Shepherds Bush stitcheries.
