Lately

At long last the school holidays are here so things have slowed right on down. Hannah is enjoying hanging out with her big cousin Zoe, how great it is now Zoe is old enough to babysit for us.  Glenn and I are both still working, no time off for us this time around as we're saving our annual leave for our family holiday later in the year.

So time for a catch up today. Earlier in the month I celebrated my birthday and I spent it with my family in my favourite spot, Napier. Although the weather was pretty miserable, it always rains on my birthday, we were still able to get out and about and enjoy ourselves.

We went out for a family dinner on the Saturday night, a double celebration as my little brother had recently turned 40.

Found some pretty lights for Zoe to do some posing, teenagers and their phones!

On Sunday morning Glenn treated us to brunch at one of our favourite spots, the Boardwalk Cafe at Ahuriri.

In my next post I'll share some of the lovely presents I received from my stitching buddies.

We couldn't resist trying these new biscuits made by Griffins/Tip Top last week - they got the thumbs up from us!

At the end of the term Hannah had a badge ceremony at her Brownies group and she has now been made a Leader/Sixer which she was very excited about.

The little crochet blanket I started during the Easter break is now finished and I'll share a pic once I have blocked it.

This weekend one of my good friends is celebrating her 65th birthday so I'm making her a couple of pairs of handwarmers using my favourite fingerless glove pattern.

This charcoal wool is so lovely and soft, 100 % pure New Zealand wool.

In other crafting news, this week I made my first order to the Wool Warehouse in the UK. I ordered a bulk lot of Stylecraft wool to make one of Lucy of Attic 24's lovely blankets for Hannah.

I have also been sewing and managed to finish off February and March's ornaments, which you may have already seen February's if you follow me on Instagram.  A little red work stitchery has been finished too.

See you soon x
