The Weekend

Once again the weekend flew by - trying to fit in too many things to do and places to go!

Here's a few snaps from our weekend:

I stopped by our little library on my way home from work on Friday afternoon to pick up some reading for the next few weeks.

Spring is in the air, the blossoms are out :)

Saturday was great day weather wise and after lunch we headed up to Napier for some shopping, visits to the parks

Ice cream by the beach

My happy place, Ahuriri, Napier

Could have sat here all afternoon

Then out to dinner with DH and these two crazy girls

Then we rugged up to head to the game, to watch our local rugby team the Hawkes Bay Magpies take on North Harbour

We had great seats and got to see the players up close and we won too!

Sunday it was Father's Day here and Hannah asked if she could make a cake for Dad.  She picked out a recipe for a carrot cake

It turned out pretty good, and delicious too :)

Some more baking for lunches this week, banana and chocoate chip muffins

And a simple vanilla & apple cake for dessert, it was pretty tasty too.

DH had a very productive Father's Day, finishing the construction of a new garden shed, which will eventually go out by our swimming pool and have all the pool equipment and outdoor furniture stored in there.  For now the garden shed is in our garage and I have to remember not to walk into it every time I go out the laundry door ha ha!

Remember our orange tree - it only produces a good crop of oranges every second year, well, this year it has been prolific, meaning friends and family, and the clients at my work have been enjoying the abundance of oranges.

Our spring seedlings are all underway too, different varieties of tomatoes, lettuce, kale, cucumbers, sweet corn, and we have some strawberry plants ready to go into our new planters - pic to come soon.

September means that Spring has officially started here in the southern hemisphere, and the warmer weather is now just around the corner. I love this time of the year and its only three weekends until our Daylight Savings hours begin.

I envy you being able to grow oranges! It's too cold down in Christchurch :( You always bake such yummy things and I think I should be doing that too, instead I just look at your pics and admire them lol.
