A Weekend Away

Hannah is on school holidays at the moment and Glenn had a few days off work so we decided to head off south and spend a few days with my relatives in Palmerston North. We haven't been over to see them since late last year so it was long time over due for a visit.

Friday night we tried out an Indian restaurant for dinner - it was delicious and oh boy, was I so full afterwards!

The weather wasn't too great, wet and cold, like winter really but we were able to get out and about on Saturday to the Esplanade park and then to the pools later in the day.

Feeding the ducks and I think every duck in town turned up!

Inside the conservatory, always a lovely place to visit. Toasty warm in there on a chilly day!

Later in the day was a good time to head to the community pools - Hannah had the whole little kids pool to herself at one stage.

As usual we did quite a bit of shopping - this time though I think Glenn and Hannah actually spent more then me, ha ha.  I chose a new charm for my Pandora bracelet, which is something I like to do when we're away. Hannah needed some new gumboots, ugg boots and sandals having outgrown all her other ones and this was her selection :)  All on sale too.

Sunday morning was sunny and still quite windy but we still decided to get out and have a walk through the nature reserve near where Donna lives. There has been heaps of work done since we were last there in November last year, more planting and several new walkways put in.

Hannah and I have decided to have a picnic there next time we're over in Palmerston, maybe heading over again late November to some Christmas shopping.

Have a great day x

Looks like all had fun - family memories being built :) Kids grow so quick! I'm surprised at your weather! I guess I just assumed that being down in the Southern hemisphere and because we're having such hot temps that you guys would be cooking by now too! Hope it warms up soon
