Framed in Time for Christmas

Happy New Year!

So far 2011 is off to a great start here. We didn't even see the New Year in, which must be the first time in many years. We'd been out visiting friends in the early afternoon, came home for a swim then went to have a drink with our friends who live down the street. In the evening after Hannah went to bed, I watched a dvd while Glenn snoozed on the couch, lol. New Year's Day we went out for day with friends to a local Family Horse Racing Day and had an excellent day, even broke even after having a few bets.

Since New Year's we've just been chilling out and enjoying the time together at home, not having to go anywhere. Most days its been scorching hot, 30c plus, so alot of time has been spent in the pool. We've also been getting a few things done around the house, some odd jobs, gardening, and also had a major sort through our wardrobes. I think the local RSPCA opshop was very pleased when I walked in with a huge bagful of clothes to donate for their sales :)

In the evenings I've been trying to sit and stitch for a few hours, its been far too hot during the day. I have started a new project by Little House Needleworks, the Virtue Sampler, which I'll share a progress pic of next time. I've also spent a bit of time on Hannah's hexagon quilt, hoping this will be completed over the next few weeks, and stitched a wee bit more on Lizzie Kate's Christmas Rules.

Here's a couple of projects that I had my friend William frame for me before Christmas -

Christmas Double Flips by Lizzie Kate

stitching completed during 2009

(gift for my Mum)

2007 Special Edition Christmas Kit by Lizzie Kate
stitched during 2010
(gift for my aunty Stephanie)

Cat Lessons for People by Lizzie Kate
stitched during 2010
(gift for my MIL, Heather)

Once again, William did a superb job of all of these, they couldn't have turned out better. The recipients all loved them too. It was very hard to part with them all, lol.

Oh wow they're so beautiful! Don't you just love it when stitches come back from being framed and the frame really properly highlights the stitching and makes it even more stunning!

What beautiful stitched projects, and I adore the framing jobs on them--particularly the green and red ones, which I'd have chosen for myself.

They look awesome Katrina! I just love getting back framing, don't you? Your friend did a great job. I have the "Dog Lessons" pattern I hope to stitch this year - love those LK designs.

Wonderful gifts. We had the opposite NYE to you--we're usually in bed before midnight, and this year we were up until 3! Next year we'll go to bed early so that you can celebrate. Deal? LOL
