New Starts

dear friends, thanks ever so much for your sweet comments about Its Berry Time :)

Several weeks ago I ordered some fabric at my LNS and it finally arrived in the other day. Its for the two baby samplers I've been asked to stitch for a friend's grandchildren.

I got the first one underway on Saturday, Sailing Home by Blackbird Designs.

I've also been wanting to start on My Lady's Quaker by Jardin Prive ever since I bought the chart last year. Only I couldn't make my mind up what colours to use. The other day while browsing around a few blogs I came across a recent finish that used a colour combination I really liked. I hope the stitcher doesn't mind me using the same choices :)

Because I'm being a good girl this year and trying to use up what fabric I already have in my stash, I dug around in my fabric boxes until I found a piece of 36ct white linen and had a go at coffee dyeing it. I was quite impressed with how it turned out, not that you can really tell the true colour from the above pic, but best of all, it has a divine coffee smell to it :)

and lastly for today, here's Miss H out on her bike on Saturday morning, watching what was going on up and down our street.

I hope you have an enjoyable day, where ever you might be. As always, thanks for your visit!

Two great starts Katrina. I think I saw that color combination for the Quaker Girl too, and think it's just the best choice. :) And your little Hannah, is absolutely precious! They grow up so fast, don't they?

Beautiful new starts. Love the colour choices too. Pity I have no sense of smell so enjoy the coffee smell while you stitch

Hannah is just adorable, I can't believe how fast she is growing up! Seems like just yesterday you had her.

Love your Lady's Quaker. I too bought this and can not decide what colours to use either. Will be waiting to see your next updates!
