A New Start

Last week I started a new project, An Open Heart by the Drawn Thread. Karen had mentionned in an email she was going to start DT's Linen and Lace so we decided to have a Drawn Thread SAL. I'd been wanting to start An Open Heart for well over a year so now that I've finished a bit of gift stitching it will be part of my weekly stitching rotation. This is my first week's progress, after 3 nights of stitching. I'm using 32ct cream Belfast.

The weekend seemed to just fly by but it was very productive and busy :) Friday afternoon I spent catching up on bookwork for our business, getting ready for the end of another month, and also finally got the pile of ironing done that had been sitting there for a few days. Saturday it was a gorgeous day out so once I'd finished all the usual housework jobs and washing I headed outside for a few hours. It felt so great to be out in the sunshine, I didn't even have to wear a jersey, it was so warm. I got the front garden and rockery all tided up, and some of the outside windows washed down. My neighbour Gail stopped by and we ended up going for a 5km walk, the first in ages as the weather has been so downright cold and miserable since late May.

Saturday evening Glenn and I went out with several of our friends to see a local band. We had a great time, its been awhile since we'd done that, but oh boy, was I tired yesterday, and had sore feet from all the dancing! We'd been invited out to lunch at Glenn's parents yesterday too which was lovely, and Glenn's brother and wife were there too. It was great to catch up with them as we'd last seen them at Christmas.

So no weekend stitching to share today, I did stitch a little bit on another Lizzie Kate blessing last night so only 2 1/2 blocks to go now and then the whole piece will be finished. I almost forgot, I stopped by the quilting shop after work on Friday and picked up some more fabric to make up a couple more bags - one of which I'll be trying out a new pattern so watch this space!

What lovely neat work you've done on An Open Heart - a couple of people at 2muchXS have done this and it is a fabulous piece.
Love the colours your friend chose for your small gifts.

No offense, but I'm glad other parts of the world were having such miserable weather as us in the UK.

Love your progress on An Open Heart. I'm happy to wait for it, there's no rush to finish it!!!
