Warning -lots of pics coming up!

Before I share some photos from the exhibition weekend I just wanted to say that I'm terribly behind in reading my favourite blogs at the moment. I've been trying to catch up over the past few days and I'm slowly getting there, but I might not have time to comment on all the posts I've missed lately. But I have been reading what everyone's been up to, and seeing all the wonderful stitching going on. Hopefully my normal blog reading routine will recommence in the next few days or so, lol.

Ok, so here goes -photos from the Central Hawkes Bay Crazy Cross Stitcher's 2008 Exhibition. Our exhibition is held each May and is a fundraising event for the community service I work for. Its held at my work and takes two days to set up all the displays. Throughout the weekend we had many people through, including lots from out of town. Our raffles sold really well and so did the needlework supplies from our friend Sherelyn of Heirlooms. I bought several new patterns, couldn't resist the temptation, so will share details about them in another post.

anyways, it was a wonderful weekend so I'll let the photos speak for themselves:)

A quilting display by a local quilting shop.

Some of the woodwork that is made by our one and only male member of our group

some of the lovely goodies for sale

Some of you may even recognise some of your stitching - I always like to share what I've received in exchanges :)

some of Lisa's lovely stitching and you can see Kath's Quaker Garden.

Emerald Mermaid stitched by our youngest member, Julie, aged 17.

Royal Holiday - I'd love to stitch this one myself one day.

some of my needleroll collection including gifts and exchanges :)

cute Britty Kitty designs.
the gorgeous quilt that we are raffling - this was made by my staff and clients over the past twelve months.

Bags for sale made by one of the members.

I do have lots more so if anyone is interested in seeing more I can upload some to my webshots album.

After work today, we officially adopt Poppy and get to bring her home! Can hardly wait! We're all prepared so let the fun times begin. I doubt that I'll be getting much stitching done tonight, lol.

I just stumbled across your blog on the web. Loved looking at the exhibition photos. It looks like a ton of really great stuff was made and raffled off. I wanted to share a pretty neat fundraising idea a friend of mine sent me last week. It's a free program called iBakeSale. The program helps people or groups raise money for various cause large and small by spending at hundreds of retailers they have in their program. It turns everyday spending into fundraising and takes the need away from doing more time intensive things like bake sales and raffles. I just wanted to share because I'm using it for a variety of groups I'm involved with and love it. It makes grass-roots fundraising easy and free. Check it out.
