Legacy Exchange

Over at the Legacy BB, I joined in on an biscornu, or 8 sided pinchsion, exchange recently. I posted off my exchange the other day and its now making its way to Canada. Now it might sound funny but I totally forgot that I'd be receiving an exchange back, weird I know, so I was completely surprised to find a little parcel in the mail box yesterday from Laura in the US. Laura stitched this wonderful biscornu for me, and sent some other treats - threads, needles and some hand dyed silks, all of which will come in very handy.

The biscornu is stitched on both sides and Laura mentionned in her card that both designs are Indigo Rose freebie patterns, Spring Garden and Four Little Hearts. Don't the Indigo Rose freebies make up great biscornus?

I made a "detour" last night from exchange stitching and worked on Part 2 of Stitching Leporello. With a tiny bit of backstitching to do, and then the beads, all going well (ie.no frogging, lol) I should get it finished later today. Parts 3 & 4 look like very quick stitches so I may just get caught up with this yet :)

I don't think I've mentioned this but this time in two weeks I'll be off on a stitching retreat with some stitching buddies Wendy, Kath, Lisa, Pat and Donna. We are going to all meet up at a motor lodge in Napier on the Friday afternoon and spend until Sunday visiting some LNS's and of course, stitching and chatting our little hearts out. I'm so looking forward to the weekend, I'm even going to have a guilt free stitching weekend and start two projects, Mermaid Heart and Indigo Rose's the Beecharmer. I don't feel at all guilty for leaving Glenn for the weekend as he will be indulging in his "passion" by attending a rugby match in Wellington, New Zealand versus South Africa on the Saturday while I'm away.

thanks for the comments about the ornament too, and a big hello to my new readers, I love to hear from you :) I'm off now to enjoy a little bit of sunshine, got to make the most of it when we get some sun in the middle of winter.

~~ whoops, almost forgot, will post a list of everyone participating in the needleroll stitchalong later on!~~~

Great exchange gift!
I'm so excited that you're able to get away for a little stitchers' retreat with friends. Don't think I'll ever get over the fun I had on mine the end of March, and can't wait to do another!!

Gosh, these Biscornu's are really lovely - I've enjoyed seeing the finished product on various blogs. The colors in this one (purple) are my favorite!
