A finish and some finishing

I had all intentions of posting over the weekend to share my latest finish, 12 Houses by Drawn Thread but oh no, flat batteries in the camera, again, lol.

I decided to get the sewing machine out yesterday and get on with some finishing since the next few weekends are going to be out for sewing. Next weekend I'll have end of the month invoicing to do and my niece is coming to stay, the following weekend Glenn and I are off to stay with Kath and her family, and then the weekend after that we're also going to be away - Glenn's heading to Auckland with a friend to watch the NZ All Black's play Ireland, and I'm going to visit family in Palmerston North. As well as these couple of finishes I also made up Christine's friendship piece using a new method that I'd come across recently thanks to Kath so now I just need to get together a few goodies for the parcel :)

When I was out at lunchtime I picked up the June issue of JCS magazine. Once upon a time I used to buy this every time it came out but now I'll only buy it if there's a design in there that I'll definately stitch. This issue had two or three things in there that I liked, in particular, the Beaded Hearts Pillow by JBW Designs, which is just perfect for my idea of stitching a ring pillow for my friend getting married in October, and the Summer "Bow-quet" Scissor Case by Keepsake Stitches is really pretty too.

And at long last I received an email from Stitching Bits and Bobs to say my recent order has been shipped, wahoo. In this order are the Crescent colour threads for Coffee Menu, Drawn Thread's Wayward Garden and Sampler Game board, a couple of packets of Mill Hill magnifica beads, the latest 3 Blessings by Lizzie Kate, and Quaker Style Friendship Sampler, just to name a few treats of my wish list. I just hope it doesn't take too long to arrive :)

I also spent some time over the weekend sorting out some small projects for June, like exchanges, overlocking fabric pieces, and also deciding on an ornament to stitch for the bi-monthly exchange with Kath. I can't even say what they are as they are all for exchanges or birthday gifts :)

Finally for this evening, I've had a good run at Stitching Leporello over the weekend too, and the end of block one is in sight, mostly the speciality stitches and beads to go on now. Just as well, part 3 is due out later in the week, lol. For Wendy, who asked if I was enjoying it and about keeping up with monthly installements, Wendy, this is my first Chatelaine design and I'm loving it so far. The needlepoint silks are especially nice to stitch with, and I've only had my kit a few weeks now so as soon as I can manage it I hope to be all caught up. A friend of mine from work started when the first part got released and she's had no trouble with staying up to date.

catch up again soon :)

Such a nice finish you have there! Congratulations!

And I think our Friendship Sampler charts must have been in the same back order - I got an email from SB&B too! Whose parcel will get here first?! ;)

(By the way, I need to remember to boot DH off the other computer to send you Two Sheep!)
