Wow, thank you everyone for the wonderful comments on Celtic Winter - I was amazed just now to read them all - it warms my heart so much, you guys are great!! thanks a million!
Litla, I'm not sure what I will choose to frame her but I think I will definately go for a mat, and something silver perhaps for the moulding? My friend J does an awesome job of her framing and she has a great eye for mat/frame combinations.
I've not long got home from a lovely day out and about with my parents and my nearly 5 year old niece (she lives with my Mum and Dad). We took a trip to Hastings, which is about 30mins drive north of here for some shopping and to have lunch out at a cafe. I wasn't even looking (which is always the case, lol) and found some really cool shoes to wear to Paul and Jude's wedding next month, and a couple of nice tops for work. Zoe turns 5 on the 7th March, and will be off to school for the first time so Mum and Dad were looking for school shoes, school bag, etc. I found a Dora pyjama bag which I'm going to slightly modify to turn it into a book bag for Zoe. She absolutely adores Dora the Explorer and her birthday party is going to have a Dora theme (how cute). (If any of the kiwi ladies might know where we could find Dora party favours, I'd be keen to track some down)
My progress so far on Spot of Summer from the new 'Drawn Thread Thursday' slot in my weekly rotation and the little SAL I'm doing with Cathy:
I'm sure I could have got a whole lot more done but I was busy watching Stargate Alantis on tv, and only ended up stitching H, I, J, K about four times over to get the placement right! lol.
This weekend its the freebie SAL on the Needle and Thread board so I started the freebie I mentioned in the post below. I just love the Aegean Twilight thread, reminds me of the sea with its lovely sea blue and turquoise colours. This piece is going to turn out a whole lot bigger than I had orginally planned because I'm stitching it on 32ct ivory belfast, rather than 36ct, so it will make a nice pillow when its done.
Enjoy your weekend and happy stitching :)

Hey Katrina - Nice start on Spot of Summer. I have to re-group and will probably stitch Spot of Fall instead of Spot of Winter. I pulled my fabric and threads, opened the chartpak - no pattern! I've been wanting to do Spot of Fall too, so will probably do that instead!
Just love all the DT Spots. It's worth ripping out and redoing in order to get it right - but sorry you had to so many times, lol! I've had to do that more times than I like to think about when distracted by something interesting on the tube.
Hi! Birthday Express has a ton of Dora party favors: http://www.birthdayexpress.com/bexpress/product.asp?sku=E2432
The DT peice is so cute!
Wow, that is a beautiful piece. I can't wait to see your progress.
Hi Katrina :) Thanks for popping by my blog and saying hi!
Nice work on DT Spot of Summer btw :)
I love your Spot of Summer! I hope to someday stitch all four spots as one longer band sampler... someday.... I bought the 36 ct and collected up the threads, but when can I do it?? LOL!
Your DT piece is looking great - even though it had a bit of a frog attack thanks to Stargate LOL. I'm looking forward to seeing your Aegean freebie - this is one chart I've got printed off to stitch later ... I love it :)
That's a great start. I can't wait to see your progress.
Wonderful DT project -- you'll have fun SAL with Cathy : )
Are they going on one piece of fabric or separates? Inquiring minds ...
If you are stuck for Dora party favors, give me a shout, I can send some.... would need to be soon though - there is a huge party store not far from me :-)
Your DT piece is off to a pretty start!
