It's been a few weeks since my last post and what a whirl wind they have been! We've had three trips away from home as well as visitors one weeknd, all good fun, so today is a bit of this and that, to catch up on the happenings around here.
A good friend of mine is due to have a baby very soon so I have a small crochet baby blanket underway using these gorgeous colours from the Stylecraft Special DK range. Progress pic to come.
Hannah has started a new year at school, Year 4. She has the same lovely teacher from last year.
A few weekends ago now, one of my aunties celebrated her 70th birthday and we surprised her with an afternoon tea. I'd been wanting to try out this Mint Slice recipe and it was a real hit with everyone, I've made it several times since.
The delicious hummingbird cake was made by my cousin Donna:
On a rainy Thursday evening recently Glenn and I went to the Guns n Roses concert in Wellington. Asides from getting quite wet, we had a blast, reliving our teenage years bopping away. Awesome concert!
Then it was home from Wellington to pack up again and head out to spend the long Waitangi Weekend at the beach with family and friends. This time the weather was great, and HOT!!
See you soonxx

Pretty colours for the baby blanket.
Phew, it's time to sit and craft for a while, I feel tired just reading that lot.
Looks like you've had a busy-fun time.
The yarn colors for the baby blanket are so pretty, and those desserts look delicious!

Gosh you have been busy. My 13 year old son went to GnR in Auckland.
The baby blanket will be gorgeous, love the colours.
Great photos of your days at the beach. I'm envious of all the blue skies and sunshine you're having, it's been relentlessly grey and cold here since last week. x
