This Week

Another week has zoomed on by, how did it get to be March so quickly!

We are still having some very summery weather, hot hot days, but the mornings are definitely cooler and I've noticed its getting darker a lot earlier in the evenings.

So whats been happening around here lately?

I finished this cute Christmas stitchery last weekend, a freebie I found on Pinterest. I'll pop it away in the finishing box until I work out what I'm going to make it into.

I enjoyed a fun day out in Napier last Friday as a parent helper with two classes from Hannah's school.  We visited the National Aquarium, had a picnic lunch on the beach front, it was a gorgeous day.

On the way back we stopped at one of the parks for the children to burn off some energy (!!) and enjoy an ice block before the hot bus trip home.

This is my reading pile to get through this month - I thoroughly enjoyed the Taming of the Queen by Philippa Gregory.

And my niece turned 15 on the 7th March - I can hardly believe it. We are very proud of this young lady.

We had a family dinner for Zoe on Saturday night and I made a Chocolate/Lollie box cake for her, it was hard to keep it altogether in the 30c plus heat!  Tasted delicious!

This weekend the biannual Wine Country Quilts Show is being held locally and I'll be heading along with my stitching friends. Looking forward to seeing all the quilts and our local embroiderers guild has a display this time too.

Love your deer, that cake looks delicious - nothing like a chocolate overload for a birthday treat.
Have a great weekend.

Oh wow--that cake looks delicious!! Wow! Zoe is 15... We have seen her grow up in your blog too, right along with Hannah! She is a lovely young lady! Seeing your latest stitchery finish just reminds me (again) that I am going to try that this year... You did a good job! It looks easy... I just get bogged down in so much other stuff! Thanks for sharing! Hugs!
