Our Greenhouse

Now that spring is finally here, and along with it a couple of lovely sunny and warm days this week, I thought I'd share a few pics of our greenhouse.

Glenn started building our greenhouse about two summers ago and it sits on the edge of the deck at the back of our property, next to the swimming pool.

Inside we have lots of little shelves for growing seedlings on, and louvre windows, given to us by a friend that just needed bit of a fix and paint.

Last summer Glenn put in some raised boxes and irrigation for the tomatoes, saving us having to bucket in litres and litres of water when it gets really hot.

We left our vegetable gardens pretty much dormant over the winter months, apart from a bit of silver beet, but these have now been turned over and topped up ready for planting in a few weeks time.

Because we can still get frosts here sometimes in late spring, we usually wait until mid to late October to get everything planted in the gardens.

This is one of our new raised beds, all ready to go and Glenn is planning put some irrigation around it soon.

Have a good weekend x

You certainly look set to go. It's a lovely green house and I'm sure you'll get great tomatoes in there. You'll be like Annabel Langbein soon!

Yes, I have greenhouse envy too!!
We have plans for our garden next year, so perhaps then.

Seem strange to me when you talk about summer in October, lol.

Wow - that is such a fabulous greenhouse. Looks like you have a lot of seedlings already. I am so slack this year, getting mine ready. Think I will be buying them to plant. Thanks for sharing it.

The greenhouse looks amazing! Although greenhouses don’t really need much aesthetic appeal, it’s interesting to see greenhouses such as yours that are designed beautifully. Even on the inside, the colors are very organized! I’m guessing that your visitors probably loved the look of your greenhouse. Thanks for sharing!
