Stitchery Finish, gifts from a Friend and an eventful Friday

Hello there

Over the past few weeks I've started making some gifts for friends for this Christmas. This Natalie Bird stitchery will be turned into a bag for my friend Tracey.  I've picked out some black and white fabrics to match the orangery red of the stitching.

My friend Janet made this sweet block roll and project wallet for me recently - didn't she pick well for the fabric choices!

We had an eventful end to the week - I had a phone call at work just before 9 am on Friday morning from Hannah's school teacher, the call every parent dreads, to say that Hannah had fallen on the playground and it might pay to visit the Medical Centre to get her checked out.

She was nursing her arm and in considerable pain and after several x rays, it showed she had a fracture just above her right elbow :(  For the weekend, her arm was put into a cast and then a sling.  We were back at the doctors Monday morning and after an orthopedic consultation, Hannah's doctor has recommended weekly x rays and a new cast for the next four weeks.  It should heal within 3-4 weeks.  Poor Hannah, she was so disappointed as her class started swimming sessions yesterday.  She's managing quite well as her hand is free from the cast and is getting lots of extra care and cuddles from Mummy & Daddy :)

See you soon x

PS. Our two pom pom trees up the driveway just look gorgeous at the moment!

I love your red embroidery. I've been contemplating trying my hand at that myself, recently :)
Your project envelope is lovely too! Your friend did pick lovely fabbies for them!
And sweet baby, I hope her arm heals quickly and without pain! that sort of call is a dread and I've had it a couple of times for both of my girls, never for my sons...LOL! As you'd think you'd get one from boys before girls...

Poor Hannah! You are right - totally the kind of phone call every parent dreads. Hope she makes a speedy recovery so she can swim again soon!

Oh my--what a traumatic thing for little Hannah! Children bounce back quickly though, so she will soon forget she even has a fracture! I will pray for a complete healing tho!
Good for you doing Christmas stitches... I took out some patterns...but I have a rather involved project to finish in a month, so... it's going to be close! Hugs!
