Out & about with friends & a new start

Hello friends,
thank you for all the lovely messages and well wishes - I'm certainly feeling much better this week but still not quite 100%.  A few early nights this week might do the trick :)

This past weekend I had planned a stitching get together on Saturday afternoon with Kath, Clare and Janet. Then we found out one of the quilting fabric shops from up north was going to be in our area with some of their stock. So a little road trip was planned instead.

We couldn't have picked nicer day to be out and about. Look at this pretty magnolia.

The ladies, after making a few purchases of course :)

Before lunch we stopped by another stitching and sewing store, JJ's. This shop also has lovely knitting wools and fabrics. Then it was onto lunch and we chose a bakery just down the street from JJ's. How about a treat, chocolate eclairs, yum yum!

We also checked out another couple of stores the ladies wanted to shop at - Janet's little car had plenty of room for all the purchases, including plants for both Janet's and Kath's garden, and some clothes shopping was done too.

My purchases of the day included two new OPI nail polishes (another of my addictions, lol) and I found the JCS Ornament preview magazine.

I also bought a little Mighty Bright light, I'd been thinking about buying one of these for ages.

So in all it was a wonderful day - we hadn't had a girls day out like that for a long time and we all so enjoyed ourselves, just what we all needed.

As you can see, I also had a new start this weekend, Spring Song by Blackbird Designs, from the Mary Ann Blackburn booklet. I'm thoroughly enjoying stitching this design so far.

Have a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by xx

You did have a lovely day out on saturday, although the ladies didn't look like they had any packages!!!!!!!. I have one of those lights - aren't they great. I recently purchased that magazine from a little newsagents in our local mall, couldn't find it anywhere in the bigger book chains, and the young man offeredto keep it for me each month and ring me when it comes in - good service. We certainly need to support these smaller businesses. Take care.
