Weekend Away

Hello friends, its been a little while since my last post so its time for an update.  Its been a nice winter's day here, I still can't believe that its now actually June and winter is officially here! We've enjoyed having an extra day to our weekend, today being a public holiday for the Queen's Birthday.  Back to work tomorrow!

I totally enjoyed my recent holiday week, it was just what I needed after a hectic few months as work.  As I mentioned in my last post, my Mum and I were heading off for a few days to visit our family in Palmerston North.  We had a wonderful time - a bit of shopping, ok, I'll admit it, a lot of shopping, eating out and having a good catch up. On the Saturday we went on a little road trip to Wanganui for a look around and for more shopping :)  We had the yummiest lunch at a Cafe and Wine Bar called Delicious, which had a lot of organic and gluten free food on the menu. My choice was this spinach and feta free range egg omelette, and it would have to be the best tasting omelette I've ever had!

We found another little bakery for coffee.

My aunt Dorrie, and my Mum

Too soon our little break away had come to an end and it was good to get back home to DH and Hannah. They'd had a jolly good time themselves while I was away, and I walked in the house to find DH had the house all tidy, and the washing all up to date - I think I'll keep him, lol.

I have done plenty of stitching lately, a few finishes and made some good progress on my mystery sampler, which I'll share in some posts during the coming week.

See you soon xx

Hannah is so cute :) I have some friends in Palmerston North but never visited it, we went on a 10days trip to north island in 2007 but went straightaway to Wellington from Ohakune, but I think I saw the road sign to Palmy :)
