Stitching Party

Hello friends I hope the week is going well for you - almost Friday again already!

Last weekend DH was away for a few days and as my Mum offered to have Hannah overnight for me, I thought it was time for a stitching party! lol.  Its been quite some time since we had our last stitching session together.

I made some great progress on Sampler aux Bouquets but sadly I've realised that due to fabric restrictions I'm probably going to have to finish it at Part Two. I'd honestly thought I'd cut my piece large enough but I'm going to run out of fabric with about 50 stitches to go.  A shame really but I've thought about incorporating some of the third part -I'll just have to see if I can work it out!

Janet (no blog) was working on her first Shepherds Bush project, a scissor fob, and Kath was stitching away on her Lizzie Kate Christmas ABC's

Clare was stitching on her birthday project, lots of beautiful over 1 stitching, a With My Needle design I think?

We also had our dear friend Wendy join us this time and she was busy sewing on some quilt blocks for her son and daughter-in-law.

Of course an afternoon and evening of stitching isn't complete without some yummy snacks!

The ladies also stayed on for a potluck dinner, and dessert, berry layer and meringues, made by Kath, was absolutely delicious.  What a fun and happy time we all had!

See you soon x

Im glad you enjoyed time with friends.
Here is what i think you should do with your 3 part sampler - have you ever seen mat board cut with multiple openings-
Stitch part 1&2 on one piece of fabric -stitch the next part on another piece & frame it in one frame with 2 spaces cut in the mat board side by side-it would be unique & gorgeous!

I'm sorry about your sampler - it sounds like Patty might be on to a good idea.

Can I admit that when I saw your party pictures, all I could see was the display of blue & white china you have on your shelves - I had to double click on the picture to get a better look :)

Like Patty's idea Katrina, that would look quite cool too. Does that mean Clare will run out of room on hers too? Oh dear.
Lovely afternoon/evening on Saturday, really what I needed. Have really got my mojo back since then. Cant wait to do it again!

Love your Jardin Prive, it is coming out beautifully! That is a shame about not having enough fabric, but Patty's idea is great. What a fun stitching party you had! That is great you have so many stitchers nearby!

I am so jealous. I have no stitching friends that live by me at all. What a sinking feeling with the sampler. :(
