A Gift for a Friend

It was my stitching friend Clare's birthday recently and when I spotted the design for this needleroll in February's issue of the Gift of Stitching magazine I knew it would be the perfect gift for Clare.

My Heart's Desire Needleroll
by Karen Kluba of Rosewood Manor
Gift of Stitching Magazine, February 2011
stitched with mostly the recommended threads
28ct Rue Green Quaker linen

I had a lot of fun working on this design with some speciality stitches and beading. Its the first needleroll I've made up in a very long while so I had to think for a bit on how to do the hem stitch, lol!

Oh wow, so pretty! I love the beading - it's quite a feature of the piece, I've only really used it as an extra.
