Christmas Treats

Over the years I've met some truly wonderful people through my blog - through exchanges I've done, or stitchalongs, or just from a friendly comment left for me. Two of these friends are Andrea and Carol, both of whom I've known for several years now. Recently Andrea completely surprised me with this sweet Christmas RAK ornament, which is just gorgeous, and so beautifully made up with a beaded edging, I must try this myself one day soon :)

I also received some goodies from my dear friend Carol, including this little star ornament, and I mean little! Carol has stitched it over 1 thread, which to this day, I can't manage to do myself very well, lol. This was one of my favourites from this year's JCS ornaments mag and I was so pleased to see that Carol had stitched it for me. Carol also sent a fat quarter of Christmas fabric and a really cool thread holder.

Many, many thanks to you both Andrea and Carol, it was really neat to get your ornaments in the mail.

I had another go at trying to get some decent shots of our Christmas tree all decorated and this was the best by far :) Next year I'll definately be investing in a bigger tree to be able to display ALL our handmade and stitched ornaments.

We might even have a proper wall behind there next year, who knows, lol.

Your tree looks gorgeous with all your stitched ornaments on it.

The ornaments from Carol and Andrea are beautiful. I remember a few years ago Carol kindly sent me a scissor fob she had stitched for my birthday, and it is also tiny and very perfect! I also won a mattress pincushion from Andrea, which is beautifully stitched and finished too.

I can sympathise with your lack of wall. We own a flooring business, yet we still haven't replaced the 'pink'(!) carpet in our lounge and we've been in our house for nearly a year.

Have a wonderful Christmas!

What lovely ornaments :) your blog has really inspired me to get into some stitching for 2011- I've done a bit of embroidery and years ago did a mini tapestry type picture from the Jennifer Pudney range but have never tried cross stitch. I've bought Cath Kidstons book Stitch for myself for christmas and am going to get some supplies this week to take away with us on holiday. Thanks for all the inspiration, merry christmas!

I love your tree of handmade decorations!! I think I might have to do some more Christmas themed stitching in future, I've only done one or two pieces in the past

Merry Christmas to you and your family :)
