Recent Finishes and some WIPs Update

Its a very miserable rainy and cold day here today - why couldn't it be Saturday or Sunday again so we didn't have to leave the house, and it was still quite dark until at least 7.30am this morning. A sign of things to come I guess as we approach the official start of winter next week.

Our weekend just flew by doing all the normal things around the house. Also, Saturday night DH and I went out with friends to a local fundraising event, to see a live band, which was a heap of fun. The evening had a country and western theme. I'm not really into that sort of music but we had a ball, dancing all night and having lots of laughs. My cousin Donna was also here for the weekend and as it was her birthday yesterday, it was a great start to her birthday celebrations. Needless to say, we all have a very low key day yesterday!!

Lately, I've had the urge to stitch up a few Christmas ornaments, and these three I finished earlier this month:

Skater Girl
one of four ornaments from White Christmas by Birds of a Feather
stitched on 32ct mocha belast with suggested threads - GAST, Weeks

Christmas Spot Sampler
Ewe & Eye & Friends
32ct cream belfast & GAST Threads

Love Letters/Noel Ornament from Joyeux Noel Booklet
Blackbird Designs
32ct cream linen using suggested threads.

This is the Tralala design I'm stitching to turn into a birth sampler - sorry, not such a great photo today. I'm using a piece of hand dyed linen for this one.

My Quaker Lady has seen the light out of my stitching bag recently too and I've added a few motifs as well as started the alphabet - I had to wait on a order of thread to get back to this one.

Coming up next weekend I'm lucky enough to be going to be spend a few days at the beach with some friends - we're going to be staying a friend's family beach house for a winter crafty get together. I've already sorted out a whole lot of projects to take (stitching and knitting) and I'll definately be packing my book and a couple of magazines. I'm sure there'll be lots of great food and even a glass or two of wine - sounds just perfect to me:)

Thanks for stopping by!

Awesome ornaments, Katrina! The BOAF is a favorite - can't wait to see how you "finish-finish" them!

Great WIPS, too!

I hope your winter is as mild as our last one was in Michigan!

All your pieces looks wonderful Katrina. Love the BoAF ornament. Hope that you enjoy your weekend. I always find it a little odd when people talk about it being winter in their part of the woods since we're going into summer!
