BD House on Holly Hill

Hi friends, hope you are having a super weekend. I've been enjoying a few hours to myself today as DH has been away and Hannah stayed with her Nannie and Grandad last night. I've been in my craft/computer studio with a big cup of coffee and my kitty Poppy for company, having a tidy up, browsing through some stash and sorting my sewing fabrics - a lovely way to spend a quiet Sunday morning.

I've stitched just the one ornament this month - I've been on bit of a stitching break over the past week or so as I've caught the knitting bug - more about that in another post :)

This was a lovely stitch, although I did make a wee bit of a mistake on the house, but by the time I realised what I'd done I'd nearly finished the entire house and wasn't going to reverse stitch a good few hours of stitching, lol. I chose to finish it into a hanging pillow.

House on Holly Hill
from the Peppermint & Holly book by Blackbird Designs
stitched with Weeks Dye Works threads.

While I was at the sewing machine I also made this ornament finish from earlier in the year into a hanging pillow as well. I really like this Moda fabric - I'd bought at least a metre of it in a quilting shop closing down sale several years ago and actually forgot I had it in my fabric stash so be prepared to see a bit more of this featuring in my sewing finishes this year, lol.

Its been awhile since I last got together to stitch with a few friends so yesterday my friends Kath and Clare came by to stitch. We spent the afternoon catching up and generally having a great time - stitching, chatting, snacking on some yummy treats. The girls stayed for dinner and we continued on into the evening. I can't remember the last time I sat and stitched for a good few hours and boy, did it feel great!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

What gorgeous finishes, I love the hanging pillow. The LHN ornie is on my list to do some time soon. Nice to hear you've had a lovely 'stitchy' weekend.
