The Weekend's Activities

Over the recent weekend, it rained all day Friday, Saturday and then until lunchtime on Sunday so it was a very chilled out few days at our house. The rain was very welcome, as its starting to get quite dry around the area, and the little plants in our vegetable garden just soaked it up.

Now I'm back at work, it was time to get baking to fill up the biccie and cake tins for lunches and snacks. This was Saturday afternoon's effort:

A Tea loaf with apricots, sultanas and cranberries; Chocolate Courgette Cake (the courgettes in our garden are just starting to come on so this is one of my favourite recipes to make with them); Chocolate Chippie Biscuits; and pineapple & pear muffins. Yum!

I stitched alot over the weekend too and finally finished this Christmas Design which I'd started in early December.

I'm not sure whether I'll find a frame for this one or make it into a pillow of some sort.

In other news, I'm so excited - my Mum and I have been planning a weekend away together in early February. We haven't done this for quite some years so its going to be so much fun!

Bye for now!

Oh you wicked girl, all that baking is making me so hungry! Yum! Your kids are lucky then. I would love the recipe for the Tea Loaf as everyone else seems interested in recipes too!

The stitching is lovely too!

Just looking at that lovely baking is adding inches to my waist - yum. The stitching is gorgeous and would look super in a Christmas cushion I think, unless you have stacks of wall space for Christmas hangings.
Have fun with your Mum.

That baking looks oh so yummy! But you mentioned the courgettes in your garden. What exactly are they? I've never heard of them.
Love your stitching finish! Thanks for the link.
