In a few hours Hannah and I are heading away for a few days to spend some time with our rellies in Palmerston North. I'm actually hoping its a bit cooler there, it usually is, lol. It will be great to catch up with everyone, maybe do some shopping, go out for dinner, that sort of thing. My stitching was the first thing to be packed, ha ha.
But before I head off on my travels I thought it was time for an update.
We had a wonderful Christmas Day with our family, starting with a breakfast with my parents, a light lunch with Glenn's Mum and Dad, home for a few hours and then back to Heather & Cliffs for our Christmas meal. Kath and her daughters joined us too and we had a super time - yummy food, bubbly wine, hot summer's day, neat presents, what more could you ask for.
I received some really wonderful presents this year and amongst my goodies I received this beautifully stitched and finished ornament from my friend Clare. I just love it :)
My friend Shelley gave me this really neat Christmas hanging - she didn't follow any pattern for it, it was completely her own design.
Between Christmas and New Year Glenn has spent working on getting our swimming pool up and running. Its now all in, and once the lining went in on New Year's Eve, with a bit of water in there, Zoe couldn't resist testing it out. I haven't been in yet myself, I'm waiting for it to warm up a bit more, ha ha.
Finally for today, a pic of Miss Hannah, taken at my aunty's, where Hannah goes to daycare. My aunty and uncle decorate their whole entire house, inside and out, every Christmas, adding more lights and decorations every year. We took Hannah to see their lights on Christmas Eve, and it was an absolute delight, watching her face, it was just priceless.

Thats me for today, I'll be back at the end of the week, hopefully with a stitching update or two :)
Bye for now, and thanks for stopping by xx

Oh Katrina...what awesome pics....you are so blessed to have friends that love you so much as to stitch treats for you :)And Hannah is so adorable, what a truly lucky lady you are!
OK, so as a yank in the US, I am fascinated by the thought of Christmas and New Year's in the summer....what is that like and does it seem weird that we celebrate it in the winter?
Anyhoo, have a wonderful trip and be safe....maybe some pics?
Hugs

The swimming pool?! Well now you're just bragging. It 9 degrees F outside here right now. BRRR! I'll be thinking of you and your southern hemisphere warmth next time I bundle up to venture outside :)
What beautiful stitchy presents you received - they are always wonderful to receive. Enjoy the pool.
Happy New Year! I think it's got off to a good start, certainly a cold and snowy one here in the UK ... so talk of 30 degs and pictures of swimming pools just are not fair ;o)
Great pics! Your stitchy gifts are awesome. Hannah is too adorable!
Yay for summer weather! I'm glad it's starting to get to swimming weather for you all. It's 1F (-17.2C) here right now.
Happy New Year Katrina! Glad you had a good Christmas - you received some lovely gifts from your friends.
I'm not a bit envious of your swimming pool and lovely weather, whilst I look out of the window and see frost for the umpteenth day running, oh no, not envious at all...;)
Wonderful picture of Hannah, she and Zoe look to be having a wonderful time. Have a great time on your trip.

Great pictures Katrina! It's hard to believe that people are hot and swimming while it's so cold in our part of the world. I had always wondered what it would be like to spend Christmas somewhere warm.
Your gifts are wonderful. I'm sure that you're going to treasure them for years to come!!
It is quite cold here in the deep
South so it's funny to see your
swimming pool in use!
I love the 'Noel' ornament? Who
is the designer? It reminds me of JBW Designs.
Hope you have a good visit with the
relatives!
Happy New Year!
Oh! She's not a baby anymore, that's a young lady!!
Have fun in Palmy
Hi Katrina, Shame I hadn't met you sooner or we could have met up while you were here in Palmy!!
What beautiful gifts, and the shot of Hannah is charming! Happy New Year!
For me it is something of a mind bender to think of Christmas/New Year's in the summer, lol. But I would love to have some of your sunshine and longer days right now. I'll try to be patient, ours is coming. :)
Have a great time with your family!
Hello, I just wanted to let you know I love your blog and I check in quite often, I am from Ontario, Canada. The temperature here is -10 and snowing.
I stitched the Noel for a Christmas gift with varigated silk thread. I loved it, so pretty.
I am really envious of your summer weather.
... swimming! And it's 4 degrees here; I can't imagine Christmas/New Years being "warm" holidays. Have a lovely trip :)
Looks like you had a warm Christmas..it was pretty nice here too but not warm. i think it was in the 20's that day but that isn't bad for December. Enjoyed your stitching. Dianntha
