A Lovely Gift

A couple of weeks ago I took Hannah to meet everyone at my work. It was wonderful to see all my staff and the clients and to hear what they've been up to since I went on maternity leave. I was totally blown away when they presented me with this gorgeous cot quilt for Hannah. Apparently it had been a secret project for months, with all the ladies stitching the individual blocks and then my friends Wendy and Shelley put it together. I've since found out that even my Mum and MIL Heather stitched a block each.

I was very touched, in fact, I didn't know what to say to everyone, I was close to tears, happy tears that is :)

Hannah thinks its pretty cool too!

The past few weeks have flown by, hard to believe thats almost the end of another month. I'm finding my days past so quickly. Hannah is nearly 11 weeks old this week and is doing so well. Just this week she has been letting her mummy sleep a bit more during the night after cutting back her day sleeps. I feel like a new woman, lol.

For the past month we have been going every week to a Baby and You group where we meet up with the girls from my antenatal class and their babies. Its lots of fun spending time with each other, comparing notes, lol, being able to have a few laughs, and off loading any problems.

Here is the wee poppet all rugged up in her car seat before we headed out last Thursday morning.

I'm looking forward to this coming weekend - Donna, my cousin, is coming to stay with us and we're going to Glenn's dad's 60th birthday on Saturday afternoon/evening. Will be lovely to catch up with all the family, especially my brother and sister in law, who's baby is due late September.

With the cold winter weather upon us lately, I've been getting stuck into a bit of knitting. I find it easier to pick up sometimes then getting my stitching out. At the moment I'm knitting a cardigan for Hannah out of this baby pattern book with Baby Bamboo, very nice to knit with, although its quite expensive per ball.

Write more soon! take care xx

What a cute kid! And an awesome quilt.

As soon as I saw your blog name as a link on someone else's blog, I had to come here and check it out. I'm half kiwi - my Dad comes from Christchurch. I really love New Zealand.

I'll be sure to visit your blog again!
