Its Finished!

On Sunday night I finally reached the end of Sampler Game Board :) Checking back, I was surprised to see that I'd started on this nearly a year ago, in early April. Sadly, this piece got a bit neglected in the 2nd half of last year but I'm so thrilled its all done now.

Sampler Game Board - the Drawn Thread

stitched on 32ct lambswool jobelan

a few close up pics. As you can see, I flipped the little motifs so everything was up the same way as this is going to be framed to hang on the wall with my other Drawn Thread samplers.

I'm really looking forward to our Easter break coming up starting tomorrow - a four day weekend, yay. My cousin Donna coming to stay with us for a few days as my family have organised a baby shower for me on Saturday afternoon. I'm not sure what they've got planned but I know its going to be fun. Glenn is going to be at his brother's finishing the installation of a complete new kitchen for them and apart from that it will nice to be just around home.

I've kitted up a small project to start tonight - Moon and Stars by Little House Needleworks, as I like to work on something new over a holiday weekend.

Baby News: I'm 31 weeks today :) I was supposed to go and see my midwife earlier this week but she was attending a birth so I had to rebook for next Tuesday. Everything is going really well with the baby - growing heaps by the size my belly, lol. It was picked up a few weeks ago that my iron was a little low but I'm now on supplements and feel much better, I thought I was so tired because of the heat. Glenn and I have been going to antenatal classes and we're finding them really worthwhile, we've also meet some really nice mum and dads to be. Our last class is this Tuesday evening, which will be a bit sad. I've got an official date for finishing work too, the 2nd May, if I last that long :). After this week I only have two or so weeks left of full time work as I've decided to cut my hours back, see how things are going.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day. Take care xx

Your gameboard is really great. I may need to do this one someday.

I had to quit working about a month before I was due because it was too painful to sit for hours. Bleh. My back still isn't the same.

Congratulations on this gorgeous finish Katrina, I think I would flip the motifs up all the right way too if it was going on my wall.
Glad to hear things are going well with your pregnancy. I had to have iron tablets when I was carrying. Hope things continue to run smoothly for you and baby to be :-))

Have a Happy Easter weekend

SGB looks fabulous Katrina! I "finished-finished" mine this week (only took me 5 years LOL!) and I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Glad to hear that everything is going well with the baby - not too much longer to go now! :)

The game board looks great - I have this in my stash to stitch "one of these days" - I like your idea of turning it into a picture, though.

Congratulations on the finish!! I like the idea of turning the motifs around, keeps it all visually "correct" since you're hanging it up. Great job!!
