Christmas Eve

Its Christmas Eve morning here in New Zealand. All our shopping is done, presents wrapped and all I have left to do is a little bit of cooking this afternoon :) I'm going out later for lunch with my Dad and niece Zoe, a bit of a tradition for us. Dad has been taking me out for lunch on Christmas eve ever since I was a little girl.

Its a lovely day, sunny and warm and looks like we're in for much of the same for tomorrow. This year we're having a real Kiwi Christmas - a barbeque and will be having beef, lamb, ham, potatoes from Dad's garden, and lots of salads. For dessert we'll be having the kiwi favourite -pavlova with strawberries.

Glenn and I have both been on holiday since Thursday and so far, have been enjoying our time at home. Glenn has spent the past few days finishing his vegetable garden beds.

Yesterday he planted some silverbeet and lettuce and also transplanted our mint plant from its pot into there.

This is my first stitching finish of the holidays: Thankful for Ewe, a freebie by Little House Needleworks.

My progress so far on Blessings be Thine by Blackbird Designs :

I've also spent a bit of time on Curly Q Ewe by Little House Needleworks, which I had started back in August or September. I'm stitching this on 32ct waterlily linen.

Thank you everyone for the comments on Glenn's projects, and my recent ornament finishing, they are all very much appreciated.

Your yard area is looking wonderful, the raised beds will be beautiful when they are full of plants blooming. Your three wips are looking lovely as well. I think my favorite is Curly Q.
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

I love your WIPs - two more for the wishlist!

I think the raised beds look great too! However, did you plant the mint still in it's pot when you moved it to the bed? If not, you might find it takes over otherwise - and it's very persistent if you try to grub it out, the merest root fragment will produce shoots. Been there, done that ... :o)

Great finished and WIPs. Glenns raised beds look super-duper. I'm sure you will be getting lots of fruit and veggies in the coming year.

Merry Christmas!
