Catching Up

Well, the bugs that Glenn had recently finally caught up with me on the weekend so I had a very quiet few days. My throat felt like it was on fire, I don't know how many packets of lozenges I sucked through, lol, and tissues too, went thru them pretty quick too. Anyways, now I'm feeling much better, just as well as I couldn't really have any time off work at the moment. We've just had the end of our financial year so I've got lots of extra reports to get done over the next few days in preparation for a monthly board meeting before I take Thursday and Friday off to have a little mid winter break. I'm taking my 13 yr old cousin Kimberley to visit family in Palmerston North until Sunday. We've got lots of shopping planned, of course, lol, and will probably go to a movie or two, and out for a meal. Will be good to have a few days away, and then next weekend Glenn has a weekend away, up to Auckland to watch the NZ All Blacks play Australia.

Although I wasn't feeling well, I was still managed to get in a bit of stitching over the past few days. I pulled out Sampler Game Board and stitched 1 more house, the rate I'm going on this, 1 house per week it will be finished this time next year!! I think I mentionned the other day that I had plans for some ornament stitching, well, here's two more:

Holiday Holly by Mill Hill

Tree Keeper by the Drawn Thread, freebie found here

I've received some wonderful parcels in the mail lately including a surprise RAK from Karen - this really made my day and I just love everything. Karen, thanks again my friend :)

Carol mentionned on her blog the other day about the great service she received from Leena at Violarium, well, I can testify to that too - I placed an order on Thursday afternoon for the Tout Rouge magazine, which I'd been wanting for ages, and it was arrived yesterday, all the way from Finland!

and here's another treasure in the mail, this time a purchase from Carol's DH Mike - I splashed out on some pretty Julia Ginghers and oh my, they are so lovely.

and lastly, from Anne in Melbourne, I received the next round in our Quaker RR. This time I'll be stitching on Karen's piece, its just gorgeous. I've never stitched on 40ct fabric before so thats going to be interesting.

Have a great week :)
