Adding to the Fabric Collection

Becky's RR is finished and all parcelled up, ready to be posted to Nicki. I stitched the motifs in the righthand top corner. Doesn't it look fab so far, I really like the colour fabric and thread that Becky chose for her piece.

Today some of the ladies from work and myself took a drive out in the country to one of our local quilting shops. Unfortunately the retail side of this business is closing down, but fortunately for us, they are selling everything with 50% off! I couldn't resist these pretty fabrics.

I also came away with this pattern and kit for this patchwork bag, a good sewing project for over the next few wintery months.
This Christmas pattern caught my eye the last time I went to the store so I made sure today I got one, a good way to use up all those leftover pieces of Christmas fabric.

I also made sure that I got some sewing cottons as well as some DMC threads, at half price, they are a real bargin -as you might know already, DMCs are pretty pricey here in New Zealand.

Looks like the weather here is going to be pretty dreadful over the next few days - a polar blast is on its way apparently. Good thing is we don't have to go anywhere this weekend.

Take care xx

Becky's RR looks gorgeous Katrina! I'm hoping to get Nicki's finished up today - I'm really enjoying stitching on it :)

Lovely stash you got - DH is taking me fabric shopping this weekend too ;) Sorry the shop's closing down though, that's a shame.

Becky's RR looks gorgeous! I'm looking forward to it - my favourite colour of course :) Feel free to post it on whenever it's convenient :)

Great bargains there. I like the Christmas tree pattern. Hope it's not too cold. I don't envy you at all. It seems odd to me that you're having winter - I'm back in the northern hemisphere time slot so easily!

The Cabin Christmas Tree pattern is really cute. I don't even want to hear the word "Polar"...I'm so much a summer person and enjoying every bit of it right now!

Haha, living in the northern hemisphere myself, I never think of the southern hemisphere being exposed to a "polar blast"!! Here's to you staying warm and toasty this weekend, and getting lots of stitching done!

What a gorgeous RR - love the color!!
Another shop closing - the same thing is happening here to one of our quilt shops. It's such a shame. Glad to see you were able to buy some wonderful things on sale though. That's always a real treat.
You mentioned how expensive DMC is in NZ. We have so many specials on DMC here & I'd love to send you some. If you email me -megratdataviadotcom - numbers you are missing/would like & of course your address I'll get some in the mail to you.

Check your mailbox! You should have a package soon! :)

Oh, how beautiful! Becky did pick such lovely colors, though I'm not the least bit surprised at her DMC color choice. :) The fabric you bought is absolutely delicious! Congratulations on the 1/2 price DMC, too!

The RR is looking beautiful, the colors are lovely. Wonderful stash you got as well.

It seems so strange to hear you write about it being so cold when we are in the middle of summer here. Stay warm and have fun with your stash.

I love Becky's RR. Nice stash. Yay for cheap DMC, I was fortunate that an Aussie store, Spotlight, had DMC at 79 cents awhile back, and I was able to kit up a couple of projects then.
