Yikes, Thursday again

By having Monday and Tuesday off from work this week, Thursday sure has rolled around fast and with the amount of work I've got to get through by Friday, the weekend will be here before I know it. February is always a pretty full on month as I have lots, and I mean lots, of submissions to send away to potential funders as well updating all our policies and procedures, quality plan, business plan, etc, etc. Such fun :)

I decided to restart my 2006 rotation plan at the start of this week, that is, big projects Monday to Wednesday, Stitching Leporello on Thursdays, and smaller projects for the rest of the week. So out of the depths of my stitching basket came poor Titania, which I started way back in June last year. I did spend a few hours on her over my Christmas break but now its time to get serious and made some decent progress on her, especially if I want to have her finished and framed in time for my stitching group's yearly exhibition in May. This is where I was at on Tuesday afternoon, she's being stitched on 32ct Pipi belfast from Countrystitch, one of my favourites in the Kiwi Illusions range.

I finished my 3 day stint on her last night so will have another progress pic up tomorrow. She now has a face and some of her left wing stitched.

Because it was a public holiday Tuesday, Glenn and I had Zoe to stay with us on Monday night. She is such a pleasure to be around, my little sweetie pea (thats my nickname for her). We took her to a local fair on Tuesday where Glenn fed her up on candy floss, chocolate, a bbq sausage and chocolate. He's such a softie when it comes to Zoe, lol. Yesterday Zoe started her new school year, she is now in Year 2, and oh my goodness, in a few weeks she turns 6, where have the years gone?

I had a lovely email from Helen yesterday to let me know that the SBEBB Valentine's exchange I sent had arrived safely to the UK. Now that was fast as I only posted it out on Thursday last week. Because I'd stitched for Helen in an exchange at the end of last year I'd found out she is a Shepherd's Bush fan, so when I received her name I knew that I had to stitch this Heart treat bag for her. It was alot of fun making it up, and I had a hard time letting this go in the mail. I'm so glad you liked it Helen :)

Heart Treat Bag - Shepherds Bush

and the other goodies I sent, including one of my favourite types of chocolate bars, Pinky.now to answer a few questions left on my post from the other day ( thanks so so much, by the way, for all your kind words):

Dot, the little Snowman is from Lizzie Kate's 12 Blessings of Christmas series. I'm stitching them with some kiwi stitching friends this year. They can be stitched either into individual ornaments or as one piece, using a free border which you can find here, which is what I'm intending to do. Each little chart comes with its own charm.

Margie, I didn't follow any pattern to make the flange pillows but will put together some instructions for you if you are interested. There may be a site out there with instructions, does anyone know of one?

quiltorstitch, yes, I did make the little tassels on the LHN pillows. Not my favourite of things to make, lol. I followed the instructions on the Indigo Rose's the Beecharmer pattern but this site has some easy to follow pictures.

Finally for today, its time to start up again the needleroll stitchalong from 2006. This weekend I'll be working on my choice for February, the Sweetheart Roll by the Sweetheart Tree. If you'd like to join me, please leave me a note and I'll post a list of all participants on here over the weekend so we can check out one another's progress. For those who are new to my blog, a group of us last year stitched a needleroll design of our own choice on the 2nd weekend of the month. We stitch as much as we like on the design and then share pics in our own blogs after the weekend. Becky has invited me to run a needleroll sal on Friends Gather BB so I'll get that up and running soon too.

well, I'd better get a move on and head off to work, hope your week has been going well. Take care xx

Titania looks lovely and what a good idea to stitch in 3-day stints on a project like this. That way you really see your progress each week.
Zoe looks like such a dear and I can well imagine you have fun times with her.
What a pretty exchange for Helen - you are so talented.
