Campervan Travels - Te Awanga Beach

This past weekend was a four day weekend for us as public holidays fell on Friday and Monday.  So we had a mini get away to one of Hawke's Bay's beaches we hadn't been to before, Te Awanga.

Te Awanga is a small beachside settlement, just south of Napier, and about an hour's drive from home. There's several wineries, Cape Kidnapper's golf course and lots of coastal bike trails.

It was a very cool and cloudy day on Friday when we arrived but the weather for the rest of the weekend was just perfect.

How cool there was a coffee cart - just perfect, great coffee and very friendly owner so we had lots of great chats. Hannah thought it was pretty cool she could get iced chocolates and ice creams!

Our friends were there too so we had a great set up for the weekend, all in a row, and close by to the showers and toilets.

There were lots of walks, fishing (one fish!!), yummy food and good company with our friends and visitors that came and went.

Diesel was a very happy puppy, loved the shells, seaweed and driftwood on the beach, splashing around in the water, meeting lots of other dogs and their owners, and lots of sleeping in the sun.

We're already looking forward to our next trip out and about, just not sure when it will be.

See you soon xx

It looks perfect Katrina. Nice and relaxing. It was the start of the cricket season so I went to watch our son on Saturday. It was a great day here too.
