During the recent school holidays Hannah and I went to Christchurch with a group of students, their Mum's and Dance teacher to attend Dance Days, a week of dancing workshops for the British Dance Organisation (BDO).
We had a fantastic time, the students were away each day from 8am to 6pm and at the end of the week, a gala performance was put on by the students. Several of the students from Hannah's dance studio came away with trophies, and two of the girls were awarded Junior Top Student and Immediate Top Student, which were amazing achievements.
For me it was a week filled with lots of chilly days, laughter, fun, sight seeing, good coffee, shopping and visiting op shops, making packed lunches, cooking meals and washing dishes, so many dishes as we self catered all the meals for the group.
Hannah had free day the day before the workshops started so we went to the Riccarton Mall for shopping, lunch and afternoon tea at Starbucks.
On the Monday Hannah started her week of ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical dance, so much learning and new experiences.
Because of our location this year due to where the dancing was being held, we able to see a lot more of the different areas of Christchurch and were also able to revisit some of our favourite spots from last year, like the Riverside Market.
The weather was pretty good most of the week but we did have a couple of cold and raining days too.
Once the week ended, most of the group left Christchurch to fly home and some of us had added an extra night stay in the city so we could take the girls sight seeing.
Hannah is already looking forward to Dance Days 2022!
See you soon x

Thank you for sharing your lovely photos with us. It looks like you had a lovely time away - now you need a holiday to get over your holiday!
Great photos , looks like you both had fun.
Hannah really enjoys her dancing and it's such an experience meeting others from around the country. Good luck for 2022!
I loved looking at your photos of Christchurch. It brings back such happy memories of a holiday we spent in New Zealand for our 25th wedding anniversary in 2000! It's good to see the city is still recovering from those earthquakes. Thank you for the memories.
Looks like a fun time with great shopping.
That market looks so fun.
Thanks for sharing the beautiful pics.

A lovely selection of photographs. Hannah looks so grown up.
Those pictures are great!! My family made an anniversary trip to NZ in 2019, and we stopped in Christchurch. Loved all of NZ! We want to go back!
