Latest Stitching and Long Weekend Celebrations

Part 1 of the Spirit of Christmas sampler, this year's mystery sampler by Lizzie Kate, was finished last week. My supplies took a little while to arrive here in NZ so by the time I got to start part 1, many other stitchers around the world were already finishing Part 2!

I'm going to leave attaching the embellishments until all the stitching is completed.

A small parcel arrived last week containing some newly released charts and a few threads.
I love the saying on the Lizzie Kate chart, I'll be kitting this one up soon!

Last weekend we enjoyed a long weekend, with public holidays both Friday and Monday for us, Hawkes Bay Anniversary and then Labour Day. As well as catching up on some much needed gardening jobs, we had family visit us and a few catch ups with friends. Glenn and I also celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary on Sunday.

It was a weekend of celebrations around our small town too, as well as our town commemorating 150 years, Hannah's primary school had their 150 years birthday celebrations.

It was a beautiful morning to watch a parade in our main street.

Then we spent an enjoyable afternoon at Hannah's school for a welcome by current pupils, a cake cutting ceremony and then afternoon tea.

There have been several other events run in conjunction with the 150 years of Waipukurau, including a major exhibition at our local museum. I went along to check this out a few weeks ago.

It was incredibly interesting checking out the displays and seeing all the old photos.

Lastly for today, our beautiful snow ball, or pom pom trees, have been out in bloom. I think a bit earlier this year. I just love watching how they turn from lime green to white.

See you soon x

THIS weekend I am going to kit up last years' LK Christmas Sampler--for sure!! I am not in love with my current project anyway... I like that LK saying also... too funny! A good haul of stash! What great photos of your hometown, in it's early days! And a parade...how fun! Our trees are shedding their leaves, flowers are fading... yours are just starting to bloom! Perfect! Miss Hannah is growing so much... she is just beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
