I have had this Country Cottage Needleworks chart in my stash for ages so decided to get a start on it just before my holiday break. I did take my stitching to Australia, never travel without it, ha ha, but I think I managed about 10 stitches one evening and that was it!
Ornamental Joy - Country Cottage Needleworks
stitched on 32ct lambswool linen with recommended threads
I love the colours used in this design - they are some of my favourite bright "Christmas" colours.
I did spend a bit of time the other day kitting up several ornaments and small designs to work on over the next few weeks but in the mean time I've decided to spend a few evenings working on A Yuletide Welcome. I love this design but its quite slow going on the smaller count linen.
My knitting needles have also had a dust off recently, a work friend of my Mum's is expecting a little girl in September so I have knitted a couple of small baby cardigans, hats and booties. I'll have some photos to share once I've blocked the little cardigans.
I'm looking forward to Saturday, hoping to catch up with my stitching buddies, it's been awhile!
See you soon x

Love the "Joy"ornament. My knitting needles are getting a good dusting off too as am knitting in the evenings for a couple of local hospitals and for plunket, mainly beannies. Nice to have something simple to do after dinner that doesn't require a lot of brain power
Great finish! I love the colors too - very happy!
My knitting needles are up and down - I'm feeling like it's time to pick them up again too!
Love the ornament, you're right, those colors are so great!
The Joy piece is adorable...but I love, love, love the Welcome one! :) blessings, marlene
I think I have that Joy piece in my WIPs!! I love those colors also. I also have the Christmas one in the pinks, lime greens and light blues in progress and love that color combination too... Paulette has so many great pieces! I started Cinnamon Stars this spring... Thanks for sharing your works!
This is one of my favorite Christmas designs. Love the bright colors too. The Plum Street design is really lovely also.
