Winter has well and truly arrived here today - there has even been snow falling in Napier, and just out of town here. Brrrrrr. We had a very quiet weekend, I've had a sore throat and cough for a few days, there seems to be lots of germies doing the rounds at the moment.
I've nearly finished the My Sweetiepie ABC Sampler, only Z for Zebra to go, which is the only cross stitch project I've been working on over the past few weeks but I've had a few other things on the go too.
My cousin Donna celebrated her birthday this past weekend and as she is just learning how to crochet, I made a one hour basket and filled it with some various shades of double knit wool, a new book and a gorgeous handmade soap made locally.
Handwarmers - two of Hannah's school friends had birthday parties last weekend so I made some handwarmers to go into their parcels. I also had a request from a lady at work for a red pair. This is such a great pattern, I don't know how many pairs I've knitted of these over the past few years.
These are from Red Brolly, have you visited the website, there are all sorts of wonderful things to find there - recipes, free stitchery patterns, lots of tips for embroidery and sewing.
Some wonderful mail arrived recently, a few crafts books on my wish list from Book Depository.
Last week one night for dinner I made this Spinach, Bacon and Feta Pie, recipe found here, it was delicious and even better the next day for leftovers.
Whittakers, one of my favourite chocolate makers in New Zealand, released an artisan range of chocolate last week so me being the perfect consumer that I am, had to buy some from the local supermarket and they didn't disappoint - yummo!
Have a good week friends!
See you soon xx

You are always so thoughtful, making perfect gifts! I really like those hand warmers! Funny--It is just warming up for us here... Hannah looks so cute! Brownies is fun! She will enjoy it! Hugs!
I love Red Brolly's designs. I made the ones you're working on now. The Angel one I used on a stocking for a Christmas swap and the house one I made into a mini wall hanging. But I still need to turn the other two in that set into something.
I've recently started a weekly Stitchery Link Party for all things hand embroidered and I'd love to have you come link up. http://www.supermomnocape.com/2015/05/25/vintage-embroidery-monday-stitchery-link-party-7/
