Last week DH and I got back from our week away with our friends to Sydney, Australia. We had a fantastic time, even though it rained for the majority of the time we were there. This was my first time visiting Sydney, Glenn hadn't been there for nearly ten years. Our accommodation was at the Radisson Hotel and Suites, right in the Sydney CBD and very central for everywhere we wanted to go. It was also a short walk to Darling Harbour, where we spent the majority of our time.
As I mentioned it did rain most of the time while we were there but at the start of our trip the weather was lovely so we were able to get out and about and do some sightseeing.
The Sydney Harbour bridge
We took a trip on the ferry across the harbour to Manley Beach.
The Sydney Opera House
And of course there was time for some shopping, loved the shops! This is my good friend Gail and I, Gail and her husband Brent are co owners of our kitchen joinery business.
Lots of lovely food and drink to try - this was my mocha latte and treat from the Lindt Chocolate cafe (went there several times, lol)
The highlight of our trip was going to watch the NZ All Blacks play Australia in the Bledisloe rugby match and we got soaked!! Even with raincoats and several rain ponchos, lol!! The game was a draw by the way.
We did lots of walking around, stopping for coffee or a drink where ever we fancied.
We went out somewhere different for dinner every night including the Meat and Wine Co, and also a meal at Braza, amazing!
These macaroons were delicious :)
On our last night in Sydney we all went out to dinner at the Casino and had several glasses of bubbles.
It's hard to believe our trip has been and gone and only a week away now is September. I'm so looking forward to some warmer spring weather - this winter has been so cold and some days so dreary. Roll on the better weather. This week I'm having a long service week off work and as always, I have a list of things to do, but I'm also having some time out for myself at home while DH is at work and Hannah is at school. Later in the week my cousin Donna is coming to stay for a few days so I'm looking forward to catching up with her and will I get some sewing done like I'd planned to, probably not but I've certainly been getting lots of stitching done.

Good to hear from you. I visited Sydney for the first time last year and loved it. Isnt the Queen Vic building amazing. Our hotel was in Darling Harbour, so convenient. I am wanting to go back for another holiday
Glad you tried those macarons. We had them too and loved them. We saw them first at the casino, but then were excited to find there was a Zumbo stand in the QVB too. yummy yummy.
What a great time by the looks of the pics :) And can only imagine what fun it must have been at the match! Saw that your guys redeemed themselves this weekend by walloping the wallabies tho :) Good showing! (Can you tell I'm a rugby follower too :D
