Yippee its raining

Wahoo, today we're getting some much needed rain and the temperature has dropped too. I should have known it was going to rain today - its rains every year on the last two days I work in December before my holidays start :)

Today I'll be posting off Nicki's gorgeous Quaker RR - doesn't it look stunning all finished? I had planned to have my part stitched over the recent weekend but you can't stitch when you're not home, lol, so instead I was able to finish it up last night. Hopefully it won't take too long to reach Nicki.

I also thought I'd share some photos today of my DH's recent weekend projects. First up, is some trellising he's put up off one of our side decks. This deck has always been a real sun trap, too hot to sit out there unless its under a sun umbrella. But now with the trellising shading it off a little I can see us sitting outside here on hot days and evenings. A good summer stitching spot too. You can't see from these photos but we also have installed a large sun umbrella which extends up and over the whole deck. This deck comes out from our lounge.

We decided to buy this small set of outdoor furniture.

The view from coming up our driveway.

Something that Glenn has always wanted to have is his own vegetable garden so for the past few Saturdays and Sundays he has also been building these raised beds.

They are not quite finished but Glenn has already gone ahead and transferred his tomatoes into one. He was quite excited on Monday night to discover he has four tiny green tomatoes :)

I'm feeling very festive this morning - probably because we're almost organised for Christmas. Our Christmas cards are done, lots of shopping done, and the decorations up, it now feels very Christmasy. This year we're having our family at our house which I'm excited about as its been a few years since everyone came to our house. I think the last time was Christmas Day 2002, the day Glenn and I got engaged, gosh, has that been five years already?

Now that my ornaments are all stitched for another year and Nicki's RR is done I've decided to have a few free and easy weeks when it comes to my stitching. I have several wips that need a bit of attention, Sampler Game Board, An Open Heart and the Christmas Blessing Angel but I'll focus on them in the new year. Over my holidays I'll probably choose to start a few smaller projects, I have nothing in particular picked out at the moment though. Last night I did start something new - Blessings Be Thine by Blackbird Designs. I've had this kitted and sitting in my stitching basket for months. Sure felt good to have a new start, its been awhile.

Baby News: on Friday we have an appointment with Judy, our midwife. This week I have booked our antenatal classes, they start on 12th February and run through until the 1st April. Tomorrow I'll be 18 weeks and it looks like my morning sickness has finally gone, yay. The past few days I have felt really good, even though I've been tired. I'm going to tell everyone at work our news before we finish for the holidays as some of my clients have already began to guess because I now have a little "bump" :)

Right, off to work now, one or two last minute reports to finish today and then my work will be done for another year, yay.

Thank you so much Katrina! My RR looks so much better than I thought it would :)

I don't suppose Glen fancies a trip to the UK to build me some raised veggie beds?! They look fantastic! Are the poles for beans and other climbers or it there more of it to come? :) I'm hoping to grow some veggies next year so I'll be watching - please keep us updated!

The RR turned out lovely, and your deck area with the trellis looks great. With it blocking some of the sun it will be so enjoyable to sit out there. Glad to hear you're feeling better as well, morning sickness is no fun.
