Ornie Stitching

The original title of this post was "A Lovely Day", when I loaded up the photos last Saturday morning and I haven't had a chance to get back here since, lol. We had visitors for the weekend and then its been full on so far this week at work, and then in the evenings I've been out every night this week. Quite alot on my plate at the moment you could say. I've got a big project coming up at work -even though, its not until early November I'm already starting to prepare for it as I don't want to end up working weekends to get everyting done in time. So hence, not alot of extra time for blogging lately, or visting all my stitching buddies blogs, or even stitching :( But I hope to remedy that over this coming weekend as I'm pretty sure its going to be a quiet one around home.

Thought I'd share this photo from a few weeks ago. I went out for the day with my friend Rosie and her little baby girl, Neve, to a spring festival. We got to travel in style to the venue on this red double decker bus, pretty cool.

I did manage to stitch three Christmas ornaments last week:

a Raise the Roof design, from last year's Just Cross Stitch ornaments magazine. This is going to be for my MIL, Heather, as I know she'll get a real laugh from it :)

next up is Joy, a freebie by Lilybet Designs

this one is from an old Cross Stitch and Needlework magazine, and will be made into a needleroll.

That feels good to add another 3 ornies to my tally for the year :)

A little bit of stash arrived yesterday - the 2007 Lizzie Kate Christmas snippet and the 2007 special edition Christmas kit. I'm patiently waiting on an email from Stitching Bits and Bobs to make payment for the 2007 JCS magazine - has anyone else that preordered one from there, heard from them about it?

Your three finishes are all lovely, you've certainly been busy. The last one will make a goregous needleroll, it will be so pretty to set out at Christmas.

Wow, christmas overload! You sound like a pretty organised person, getting in early for christmas and work. Good luck for both.

All your latest finishes are gorgeous (love the Home Sweet Home especially) - I'm really behind on my Xmas ornie stitching too :( I have my JCS mag coming from 123-Stitch this year, and it left last week, so hopefully that'll give me some inspiration to stitch a few more (mind you, almost all my stash is in storage now, which doesn't make that easy hmmm). Can't wait to see all your ornies finished off :) Actually, would you be willing to take some piccies while you're doing it for a Focus on Finishing tutorial month of ornies? I'll send you a separate email later when I have my diary in front of me (I'm doing this on a different PC). {{hugs}}

Don't you just love the Joy tree? I used it as my ornament for this year. I've made several using different types of stars, some stitched, some ready made. Good job and happy stitching.

All of your ornaments look wonderful! I especially love the Joy tree. Is it available somewhere online? It reminds me of a Charlie Brown tree. :o)
