Now I just need to pick up some finishing supplies - some matching fabric and mat board, and then I'll be able to have a go at making it up using Judy O'Dell's instructions. They don't look to hard to follow, probably just time consuming, perhaps a perfect finishing project for our long weekend coming up soon for Easter. If you'd like to check out the rest of my stitched pieces for this project you can see them here in my album.
Glenn and I had a really good weekend just been. On Friday I had to go out of town for the day for a work seminar and then in the evening I went to a friend's to have a birthday drink with her and couple of her workmates. Then Saturday Glenn and I headed out of town for the night to Dannevirke, 35 mins south of here, so we could go out for dinner with my friend Wendy, her DH and her family and friends. I was able to catch up with my stitching pal Donna before the dinner, (big waves to you if you're reading this), and we spent a couple of hours "stash diving" amongst her amazing collection of charts, kits and fabric. We had a lovely meal out and even though it was only for a night, it was good to get away and spend some time with Glenn. He's been really busy over the past few weeks at work, a small break was exactly what he needed. Our joinery company has just finished a major motel job meaning that two of staff have been away working on the job on and off again over the past month, leaving Glenn and one other guy to manage without them.
We arrived home mid morning yesterday so I pretty much spent the rest of the day catching up with all the usual - laundry, housework, ironing etc. I also chatted on the phone for a couple of hours having a good catch up with Kath, and then another friend. I finally got my stitching out just before dinner, which felt good as it had been a few days since I'd picked up my needle. I've made a good start on Spring Violets but had a wee bit of reverse stitching to do late last night as I'd stitched three of the flowers in the top row about 6 stitches higher than I should have. Oh dear, and isn't it interesting that two hours of stitching can be undone in about 10 minutes!
Over the next few nights I'm planning on stitching my March ornaments - Merriness to Thee by Homespun Elegance and a Merry Cox design from the 2000 Just Cross Stitch ornaments magazine. Tuesday night I have my local stitching group get together so I'll definately get a good few hours of stitching in then :)
