This Weekend

We've had some very low key days around home this weekend, which has been great to get on top of a few things that we needed to do, and while DH worked on the new deck around our swimming pool, I've been getting some much needed spring gardening started. Over the next few weekends I'm hoping to get all the gardens tidied up and the vegetable garden all ready to plant up. DH needs to top it up with some more soil first though - as we have raised beds the soil has slowly sunk away over the past year or so. I can't wait to get some lettuce, tomatoes and other vegetables in there, ready for our summer salads :)

After being outside for most of the day yesterday, Hannah crashed out quite early last night so I had a few extra hours stitching time. As well as kitting up some new projects, I finished this ornament, the last in a series of three.

Peace by Renato Parolin
stitched with 321 DMC, 32ct mocha belfast.

I finally remembered to take Hannah's finished cardigan with me into town yesterday so I could find some matching buttons - Hannah chose some apple ones :)

I was really pleased with how this turned out - an easy pattern and it didn't take too long at all. Hannah happily modelled it for me this morning .

As I mentionned above, I've got some new projects all kitted up ready to go including a few Christmasy designs and two baby samplers for friends. Watch this space for some wip pics coming soon.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Nice ornie. That's a very bright red, or is that just the light?
