A Long Weekend

Its a long weekend here for us, public holidays both Friday and Monday so we've been quite busy out socialising and getting a few things done around the house. We also celebrated our third wedding anniversary this weekend having our first barbeque of the summer season with a few friends and family.

Our little pumpkin has a new favourite past time, sucking two fingers on her left hand. I'm not surprised really as I sucked three fingers when I was little. Can you believe she is going to be six months old in a week!

I've been getting into a bit of Christmas ornie stitching lately so I thought I'd better get along to the local fabric store to see what new Christmasy fabrics they might have in stock in preparation for a finishing session. I found these lovely ones:

Yesterday the weather turned a bit wintry again, wet and cold, so while Hannah was occupied by her Daddy I started a new project, the newest Shepherd's Bush stocking, Anna, which I'm hoping to have finished for Hannah by Christmas time. But before I started on this, I dug out from my unfinished pile, the Jillian stocking I stitched at the end of last year, to stitch our new niece Alice's name on it. I'll stop by the fabric store one day this week to get some matching fabric for it.

As I mentionned above, I've been doing a little ornie stitching - this was my first choice out of this year's Just Cross Stitch Magazine:

Peace in 2008 by Knotted Tree NeedleArt
stitched on 32ct pearl grey belfast with Crescent Colors

I always get Mum to pick out an ornie from the magazine and this year she chose this one:

Merry 2008 by Glory Bee
stitched on 28ct new khaki lugana with DMCs

Blessings and Kind Wishes is coming along nicely too, about the half way point now :)

righto, Hannah will be due to wake from her afternoon nap shortly so I'd better get going.
Have an excellent week!

First time to visit and your pumpkin is a real sweetie. My middle son had that same little suit in blue and white stripe...20 years ago...nice to know it's a 'classic'.
