SGB Update and New Stash

Here's where I'm at with Sampler Game Board, the end is in sight :)

I might just restitch the year on the outside border to "2008" since technically most of this design will have been stitched this year.

How could I resist some of the newer Little House Needleworks and Country Cottage Needlework patterns, I'm continually amazed by the wonderful patterns these two designers come up with. Summer Garden is going to be my next start, just waiting on some suitable linen to come by mail.

My not- so -close LNS owner, Sherelyn of Heirlooms, has recently returned from visiting Nashville and she kindly sent me the latest released Sampler Threads, a lovely pastel collection.

I haven't been to my local quilting shop in quite some time so when a friend mentionned to me that it was worth checking out since its in a new premises, I stopped by after work the other day. Once again I couldn't resist these pretty Christmasy fabrics for my collection, I don't have anything in mind for them, they just "jumped" into my shopping basket, lol.

Its been a pretty full on time around here lately, between work and then a couple of out of town trips the past weekends, as well as a tickly sore throat last week, I'm looking forward to some much needed down time around home this coming weekend. I'm hoping to get my sewing machine back out and get on with some more 2007 ornament finishing, I'm determined to get them completed!

I think it was Dani who asked me last week about maternity leave here in New Zealand? If you have worked with your employer for more than twelve months, you are entitled to 14 weeks of paid parental leave, and then you can also take up to the rest of a year off unpaid. I'm going to be taking six months off from my job, returning in November part time for another six months. But that all depends on how things are going :) No pressure. I'm very lucky in that my employers are going to be very accomodating as to what I want to do.

once again, thanks for stopping by :) Enjoy your week!

What lovely work you have done on Sampler Gameboard. Your progress inspired me to purchage the pattern and I am trying so hard to leave it in my trunk until I get some other pieces done. Your new threads, fabrics and patterns are all cool.
Glad to hear you will be able to take some quality time for you and the new baby.

Great progress on your gameboard, those little motifs are so cute. Love the stash too. I also couldn't resist the Home of a Needleworker (too) and Schoolgirl Lessons. Have you decided what color you want to do Lessons in yet?
